Sir Cliff Richard Calls for Church of England to Revise Position on Same Sex

In an interview about his newly published auto biography Cliff Richard calls on the Church of England to update its views on same-sex marriages, arguing that all judgments on sexuality should be left to God. “I think the Church must come round and see people as they are now. Gone are the days when we assumed loving relationships would be solely between men and women. It seems to me that commitment is the issue, and if anyone comes to me and says: ‘This is my partner; we are committed to each other’, then I don’t care what their sexuality is. I’m not going to judge; I’ll leave that to God.”

Cliff Richard, who is virtually unknown in the USA & Canada and much of the world but is a major star in Great Britain, achieved success in the UK as the “Elvis of England’ due to Elvis Presley never having played in The UK. His original popularity was eclipsed by the meteoric rise of The Beatles & The Rolling Stones, although Mr. Richard has claimed that his own talent exceeds that of the Beatles, much to the disagreement of Britain’s Beatle fans.

Mr. Richard usually refuses to comment on rumors of his own sexual orientation but has on occasion some years ago denied being homosexual. Now however, Mr. Richard, who claims to be a Christian, has made public statements overtly contradictory to The Word of God. In Romans Chapter 1 ‚  God has already determined homosexuality & lesbianism to be self destructive and socially destructive sin and an un-natural moral perversion. The clear and unambiguous teaching of scripture appears to make little difference to Mr. Richard. Jesus stated if we love Him we will keep His Word.

Cliff Richard has a history of involvement with doctrinally precarious churches.

Mr. Richard has always been a poster boy for British Evangelical Christianity. Now Cliff Richard is the perfect poster boy of England’s ‚  backslidden and morally depraved church.
