An Anatomy of a False prophecy

A review of John Mark Pool”s “A Tsunami of God is Coming From the Northwest to This Nation!”

ElijahList is well known for sending out false prophecies on a daily basis. In fact they send anywhere from 3-5 emails daily. I have saved them all for many years because they are ripe fodder for discernment articles. I am going to use this obvious false prophecy by a long time false prophet of the New Apostolic Reformation as a demonstration of a false prophecy and how to test them according to the Bible and common sense.

The advertisement for this false prophecy starts like this:

A “Tsunami of God’s Glory” is going to roll from the Northwest and into the US this year and into 2015, as it continues to usher in the glory of the Lord that will indeed fill the earth. (John Mark Pool, ElijahList Newsletter, 11/1/14, emphasis in the original)

The “Shekinah” glory is not manifesting today in churches, contrary to mythologies passed around by apostate churches like Bethel Church in Redding, CA. On our Holy Ghost Movie Expos © we show smoke filling Bethel church (obviously from the air vents) and youth trying to lick it up with their tongues. They obviously have no fear of God, no reverence.

Even Moses and the Levites could not enter the tent of meeting or do their service when the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle or temple.

Exodus 40:35 Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
2 Chronicles 5:14 and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God.

Korah and his Levite followers who rebelled against the Lord and his appointed leader, Moses, were judged in the presence of the Shekinah.

Ex. 16:25-35 Moses got up and went to Dathan and Abiram, and the elders of Israel followed him. He warned the assembly, “Move back from the tents of these wicked men! Do not touch anything belonging to them, or you will be swept away because of all their sins.” So they moved away from the tents of Korah, Dathan and Abiram. Dathan and Abiram had come out and were standing with their wives, children and little ones at the entrances to their tents. Then Moses said, “This is how you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these things and that it was not my idea: If these men die a natural death and suffer the fate of all mankind, then the Lord has not sent me. But if the Lord brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them, with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the realm of the dead, then you will know that these men have treated the Lord with contempt.” As soon as he finished saying all this, the ground under them split apart and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them and their households, and all those associated with Korah, together with their possessions. They went down alive into the realm of the dead, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community. At their cries, all the Israelites around them fled, shouting, “The earth is going to swallow us too!” And fire came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men who were offering the incense.

Of course this begs a few questions: (1) what will the Lord do to those who falsely prophesy to God’s people? and (2) do you see God’s people trying to lick up the Shekinah in the Bible? No they ran away from it!

The fact is that the Holy Spirit now dwells in every born again individual, in the Church as a whole, and in Jesus Christ in particular, but the glory is veiled until we meet Him in glory. God does not manifest during this time of the Gentiles in “glory clouds”.

The word shekinah does not appear in the Bible, but the concept clearly does. The Jewish rabbis coined this extra-biblical expression, a form of a Hebrew word that literally means “he caused to dwell,” signifying that it was a divine visitation of the presence or dwelling of JEHOVAH God on this earth. The Shekinah was first evident when the Israelites set out from Succoth in their escape from Egypt. There it appeared as a cloudy pillar in the day and a fiery pillar by night: “After leaving Succoth they camped at Etham on the edge of the desert. By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people” (Exodus 13:20-22).

God spoke to Moses out of the pillar of cloud in Exodus 33, assuring him that His Presence would be with the Israelites (v. 9). Verse 11 says God spoke to Moses “face to face” out of the cloud, but when Moses asked to see God’s glory, God told Him, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live” (v. 20). So, apparently, the visible manifestation of God’s glory was somewhat muted. When Moses asked to see God’s glory, God hid Moses in the cleft of a rock, covered him with His hand, and passed by. Then He removed His hand, and Moses saw only His back. This would seem to indicate that God’s glory is too awesome and powerful to be seen completely by man.

The visible manifestation of God’s presence was seen not only by the Israelites but also by the Egyptians: “During the last watch of the night the LORD looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion. He made the wheels of their chariots come off so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, “Let’s get away from the Israelites! The LORD is fighting for them against Egypt”” (Exodus 14:24-25). Just the presence of God’s Shekinah glory was enough to convince His enemies that He was not someone to be resisted.

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ is the dwelling place of God’s glory. Colossians 2:9 tells us that “in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,” causing Jesus to exclaim to Philip, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). In Christ, we see the visible manifestation of God Himself in the second person of the Trinity. Although His glory was also veiled, Jesus is nonetheless the presence of God on earth. Just as the divine Presence dwelled in a relatively plain tent called the “tabernacle” before the Temple in Jerusalem was built, so did the Presence dwell in the relatively plain man who was Jesus. “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him” (Isaiah 53:2). But when we get to heaven, we will see both the Son and the Father in all their glory, and the Shekinah will no longer be veiled (1 John 3:2). (What is the Shekinah glory?, GotAnswers?, http://www.gotquestions.org/shekinah-glory.html#ixzz3J0a8isqn

So, on this basis alone, this prophecy is proven a false one. The implication of this prophecy is that somehow the US will be filled with the glory of the Lord emanating from the Northwest and will fill the earth. That will not and cannot happen now until Christ returns to claim this earthly Kingdom.

Habakkuk 2:14 “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, As the waters cover the sea.

Until the Harpazo and the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, there will be apostasy in the churches, not a worldwide revival (2 Thes. 2:3).

The Lord told me that another term for the Year 2015 is “PAYDAY!” It is now payday for God’s faithful messengers, intercessors, fivefold ministers, churches and family of God! It is no longer “payday someday,” for the Lord told me it is “Payday now!” Psalm 79:12, “And return to our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom the reproach with which they have reproached You, O Lord.” (John Mark Pool, ElijahList Newsletter, 11/1/14, emphasis in the original)

A number of issues here proving this prophecy is false. There is no “payday” predicted in the Bible for Christians. In fact those who serve the Lord will rarely have riches, but will often be poor, though the Lord will take care of their needs as He sees fit. Secondly, there is no such thing as “fivefold ministers” in the Bible. Ephesians 4:11 is talking about four or five ministries in the churches. Foundational apostles and prophets no longer exist as we are to follow what they taught us in the written Word (Eph. 2:20). Evangelists, pastors and teachers (or pastor-teachers) are still being given the gifts to carry out those ministries today.

This so-called signs and wonders movement is part of an effort to restore what they understood to be the five-fold ministry described in Ephesians 4:11. The proliferators of the movement claim that these dynamics are what is necessary for the church to have power. In actuality, those who lay claim to this ministry today are operating under a misunderstanding of apostles and prophets of the Bible. The Lord confirmed His signs to the apostles’ words to show a transition of authority from Israel and its priesthood to the apostles who were laying down the foundation for the church, a new entity. This unique anointing testified to Israel and to the gentiles a new order of leadership, the demonstration of spiritual authority was transferred to the church Christ body. Becoming aware of what the Bible says about these positions in the early church can help us guard against misleading teachings in the church today. Validated by signs and miracles, the apostles deemed the faith for the whole Church and established the written word by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Once the scriptures were completed, the Church had all that was necessary in the area of revelational truth. The apostles’ instructions were in words, then put to paper for all succeeding generations on how to live in obedience to the faith. Once a foundation is laid down and a house is built, we don’t rebuild the foundation.(Eph.2:20) Neither should we rip apart the house that the Lord has built. A true apostle would point out the false ones. Yet today, not only do those who claim to be apostles fail to do so, but there are threats and manipulations for those who do not go along with what they are trying to portray. ‘Jezebel,’ ‘Antichrist,’ and ‘Blasphemer of the Holy Spirit’ are common terms used for those who speak against them. (Apostles and Prophets Today, Mike Oppenheimer, http://www.letusreason.org/pent1.htm)

What Ps. 79:12 is speaking of has nothing to do with financial payback to Christians. Can you find this at all in the commentaries on this passage? Here is one:

Those who persist in ignorance of God, and neglect of prayer, are the ungodly. How unrighteous soever men were, the Lord was righteous in permitting them to do what they did. Deliverances from trouble are mercies indeed, when grounded upon the pardon of sin; we should therefore be more earnest in prayer for the removal of our sins than for the removal of afflictions. They had no hopes but from God’s mercies, his tender mercies. They plead no merit, they pretend to none, but, Help us for the glory of thy name; pardon us for thy name”s sake. The Christian forgets not that he is often bound in the chain of his sins. The world to him is a prison; sentence of death is passed upon him, and he knows not how soon it may be executed. How fervently should he at all times pray, O let the sighing of a prisoner come before thee, according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die! How glorious will the day be, when, triumphant over sin and sorrow, the church beholds the adversary disarmed for ever! while that church shall, from age to age, sing the praises of her great Shepherd and Bishop, her King and her God. (Matthew Henry Concise Commentary on Ps. 79:6-13)

Again these false prophets love to try to apply, to the time we live in now, verses about Israel or about the promises of the Millennial Kingdom. Eventually the Lord will avenge His elect at the end of the Tribulation with the Harpazo and return of the King of Kings.

While driving up to Seattle, it seemed a bit odd that on the very day God spoke to me and showed me all this, I drove past Longview, Washington where a tornado hit in that area. Furthermore, there was a school shooting in Marysville, WA the very next day after God began to reveal this word. It appears the enemy does not want God’s message to be planted into the hearts of His people. Remember when the enemy comes in “like” a flood, God brings in the “real deal”. When the Lion of the Tribe of Judah is about to roar, the enemy wants to steal the glory! The Lord showed me all this in a vision as I drove along the western part of the US, and I saw a tumult of clouds rolling in below the mountains. It was as if it were a “tsunami of glory” rolling in and covering even the highest mountain. I knew the Lord was showing me that as the sea covers the earth, as the waves cover the mountains, this time it will indeed be the flood of His glory that covers the earth. “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”Habakkuk 2:14 (John Mark Pool, ElijahList Newsletter, 11/1/14, emphasis in the original)

This is another mark of a false prophet. They see visions based on omens. He was thinking about a school shooting and then saw clouds. He then assumed God was telling him something about the glory of the Lord covering the earth. Maybe he should be reading his Bible when it talks about God’s people interpreting omens.

Deuteronomy 18:10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,
Jeremiah 14:14 Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds.
Jeremiah 23:26 How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds?

Those who prophesy from omens are bound to fail, just as shaman and witch doctors have failed since the fall of man.

Isaiah 44:25 Causing the omens of boasters to fail, Making fools out of diviners, Causing wise men to draw back And turning their knowledge into foolishness,
Psalm 119:118 You reject all who stray from your decrees, for their delusions come to nothing.

When you ignore what the Bible says about those who make prophecies from omens, your delusions will come to nothing. Again, Habakkuk 2:14 is prophesying about the Millennial Kingdom to come after the return of Christ.

The Lord said to tell our nation to “Get ready America; the Lord is about to pour out His tidal wave of glory that will fill your nation from border to border ” that Glory Fire Wall will be the border security needed!” And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory.Isaiah 6:3 (John Mark Pool, ElijahList Newsletter, 11/1/14, emphasis in the original)

The Lord is not going to pour out His glory on America because America has rejected God, from top to bottom. All there is left at this point is judgment and the opportunity for a remnant to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Also God is not in the business of creating a US border with a “glory fire wall”. I truly feel sorry for the delusion level of people who call themselves “Christians” in the Third Wave. They have gone so far that they sound like they need to have some men in white coats take them away to a rubber room. Yet this tripe gets thrown out to hundreds of thousands of so-called “Christians” daily.

Yes, this is the time for the anointed of the Lord to take their place as they have paved the way, as God’s plans will demonstrate that the Most High God is our “Deliverer!” Stand and see the splendor of the Lord and His “tsunami of His glory” engulf the earth. What God is pouring out throughout the Northwest United States, will grab the nation’s attention that a “flood of His glory presence” is about to cover the country, and a holy hunger is being poured out across this land. (John Mark Pool, ElijahList Newsletter, 11/1/14, emphasis in the original)

What is actually being seen in the Northwest is a complete collapse of true Christianity, being replace by the New Age, Latter Rain, false prophets, fake glory clouds, false apostles, false Christs, New Thought and general mayhem like is seen at Bethel Church in Redding, CA. I have seen the lives of many people effected, not in a good way, but to the point where their faith has been so destroyed and their beliefs so dismantled it takes an act of repentance on a scale I have never seen before for a person to be set right by the Holy Spirit. Please view the testimonies at the end of the “Lying Signs and Wonders” video to see what it takes to get straight in the Lord.

Yes, this is certainly the timing of God to do exactly opposite of what the “doomsayers” have said. Yes, God is indeed who He says He is, and no amount of giving way to the spirit of fear will accomplish anything, for the glory waves will roll over both sinners and Believers together! God will overwhelm this land with the righteousness of His heart and this land will indeed turn back to the Father as the seas of His glory invade every crevice of the earth ” which HE formed! (John Mark Pool, ElijahList Newsletter, 11/1/14, emphasis in the original)

Again, to get an idea of this implication that the Gospel is no longer really necessary as God is just going to “overwhelm” sinners and believers, you need to see what Bethel is doing in places like India in our Holy Ghost Movie Expos ©. It is both frightening and sobering to see the way they act, pretending to impart the Holy Spirit when it is CLEARLY another spirit.

It is also interesting that John Mark Pool is obviously taking a potshot at people like Jonathan Cahn, who is actually a part of the same NAR movement. His books and video warn of the judgment coming on America, yet he also misuses and misapplies Scriptures in the Old Testament about Israel. Though his warnings are true, his Biblical references which concern Israel are not. See our many reviews of The Harbinger on my site.

We will be delivered from the religious rules and regulations that offer “busyness with no results.” We must now become “aligned with God’s heart” and not the perspiring and toiling plans of man. We will no longer be able to show a false way of “appropriating the will of God by the sword of flesh!” (John Mark Pool, ElijahList Newsletter, 11/1/14)

He uses the tired old mantra of putting down religion and any other church that is not into wild manifestations and the Latter Rain transferable impartation. What these people forget is that there is such a thing as good religion! Those who don”t keep a rein on their tongues are actually false religionists.

James 1:26-27 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

I”m frankly tired of the wholesale attempt to redefine the word “religion” as wholly negative by the false prophets of the NAR.

“He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the Lord offerings in righteousness.” Malachi 3:3 This will be exchanged during this year of Purifying the Sons of Levi into becoming relentless pursuers of the intense relationship with Abba Father. We will be filled with the glory of God, and the amount of purification will predicate the amount of glory poured into each Believer. As this purification process takes place now in 5775, we will certainly experience the personal, communal, national and world-wide deliverance of God for His Kingdom. (John Mark Pool, ElijahList Newsletter, 11/1/14, emphasis in the original)

I”m sorry to inform Pool that the sons of Levi are Jewish, not the Gentile Church. If those Pool addresses, including him, don”t think they already have the full indwelling Holy Spirit, perhaps they had better test themselves to see if they are in the Faith.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?

If he is saying the amount of “glory” is dependent on being a “relentless pursuer of the intense relationship” with God, then he is admitting he is never satisfied with the fullness of the Spirit already given when being born again. This is why the false teachers of the NAR are constantly demanding “more” and “double” when it comes to the transferable impartation. They are not satisfied with being born again and baptized in the Spirit, being further filled to do the will of the Father, and doing the job of witnessing to the world. They want more of something that the Bible teaches us is already complete.

Colossians 2:10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.
James 1:4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
1 John 2:5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him.

Apparently the “love of God” is not complete in those who want more, more, more. They want more excitement, more thrills, more manifestations, more signs and wonders, more ability to do a transferable impartation, more money, more false prophecies, more titillating mythological stories passed off as truth that have no basis in actual, provable fact. True believers have fullness in Christ, persevere in their faith and obey the written Word.

We are now in a time of the “Tsunami of God’s Glory” filling this nation and turning it indeed back to the heart of the Father! Decree and expect to see the heart of God’s glory fill our land to demonstrate we are still one nation under God! We are the Christian Nation that will allow the tsunami of God’s glory to fill the whole earth! (John Mark Pool, ElijahList Newsletter, 11/1/14, emphasis in the original)

If they were “decreeing” the Gospel, they would see results. But the fact is that they believe that they are little gods able to decree things from the heavenlies. They are deluded beyond cure. May God have mercy on them and grant them repentance. We are ever mindful of this verse:

2 Timothy 2:25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,
